Statement Of Faith

In agreement with the VVP, We believe:

1. The Bible, as originally given, to be the fully inspired and infallible Word of God and the
Supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and conduct; nothing will be added thereto or taken away.
By infallibility we mean that the Bible, interpreted according to the grammatical-historical method of exegesis, the principle for harmony (or the Analogical Scripture), and the principle of universality in application is totally trustworthy in all that it claims and teaches. By infallibility is not meant present day scientific precision; it is a theological term by which the total reliability of the Bible is affirmed.

2. In the Trinity: that God eternally exists in three Persons; the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and that these three are one.

3. In the Father: the Creator of all that has been created.

4. In the Son: Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, the Word made flesh, through whom everything was made (Col 1:15-17).
4.1. He is the Saviour of the world; all have sinned and come short of the glory of God; all who believe in Him will be saved from the penalty and the power of sin through the death and resurrection of Christ.
4.2. He is the Baptiser in the Holy Spirit.
4.3. He is the Healer of the body, soul and spirit; prayer for the sick is accompanied by the laying on of hands or the anointing with oil; those who are in bondage or possessed He will set free.
4.4. He is the coming King, who will return personally to take His church to Himself to be with Him forever; His kingship will be eternal.

5. In the Holy Spirit, who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
5.1. The baptism in the Spirit with signs following, as promised to those who believe and are born again.
5.2. The fruit of the Holy Spirit, produced by everyone who believes in Jesus Christ
(Gal 5:22).
5.3. The gifts of the Holy Spirit, given for the building up of the church (1 Cor 12-14).
5.4. The ministries given to the church, within the framework of the priesthood of all believers, to equip the saints for service and the building up of the body of Christ (1 Cor 12:28; Eph 4:11).

6. In the resurrection of the dead and the conscious eternal existence after death.
6.1. The bliss of all true believers.
6.2. The punishment of all who reject Christ.

7. In the following ordinances which Christ established:
7.1. Baptism by immersion in water, after conversion and confession of faith, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
7.2. The Lord's Supper, with the signs of bread and wine, as a remembrance of Christ's death until He returns, as a meal of fellowship for all believers.
